High‐power and low‐cost sodium‐ion batteries with a wide operation temperature from −70 °C to 130 °C

Low-cost sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are promising candidates for grid-scale energy-storage systems, and the wide-temperature operations of SIBs highly demanded to accommodate extreme weather. Herein, a low-cost SIB is fabricated with Na4Fe3(PO4)2P2O7 (NFPP) cathode, natural graphite (NG) anode, an ether-based electrolyte. The prepared NG//NFPP deliver long lifespan 1000 cycles, high-power density 5938 W/kg, remarkable rate performance 10 A/g high capacity retention 60%. Benefiting from solvent co-intercalation process NG anode Na+ diffusion NFPP battery displays outstanding at −40 °C even can work ultralow temperature −70 °C. Furthermore, boiling point electrolytes thermal stability electrode materials also enable high-temperature operation full up 130 This will guide design SIBs.
